Family Support

Family Support at Pegasus

At Pegasus, we understand that substance use impacts the entire family system and not just the individual seeking treatment. Families often struggle to manage their stress and maintain boundaries while coping with a loved one’s addiction. Our Family Support services are designed to provide guidance, clarity, and practical tools to help loved ones navigate their own healing while contributing meaningfully to their person’s recovery journey.

Family Counselling

Pegasus offers individual and family counselling sessions for partners, parents, and loved ones who are seeking support, education, and strategies for healthy engagement. Family counselling focuses on:

  • Understanding the dynamics of addiction and recovery

  • Establishing healthy boundaries

  • Improving communication and reducing conflict

  • Supporting loved ones without enabling harmful behaviours

  • Strengthening relationships and rebuilding trust

  • Managing stress, uncertainty, and emotional fatigue

Our counsellors take a compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach, helping families feel grounded and supported throughout the process.

Included With IOP

For clients enrolled in the Pegasus Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), two family sessions are included as part of the program fee. These sessions allow loved ones to receive education, ask questions, and participate in the recovery process in a structured and supportive way. Additional sessions may be booked at any time.

Coming Soon: Pegasus Family Program

We are excited to be developing a comprehensive Family Program designed to support loved ones affected by addiction — whether or not their family member is enrolled in Pegasus services.

This program will include:

  • Educational lectures and programming, facilitated by expert clinicians

  • Therapeutic support process groups

  • Skill development; boundaries, communication, relapse prevention, and family healing

  • Resources for navigating the complexity of supporting a loved one in recovery

  • Dedicated aftercare group for program attendees

More details will be announced soon. If you would like to be notified when the program launches, please contact us.
